Glass : Laminated Safety Glass

Advantages : Cracks only, no break. Wide range of colours and tints available. Can be re-cut.

Disadvantages : Can de-laminate, it cracks if hit by sharp object.

Acrylic :

Often called Perspex or Plexiglass - both are brand names.

Advantages : Good translucent tints for light and heat control. Range of colours, depending on size of sheet needed.

Disadvantages : Can’t bend tight radius. Can scratch.

Polycarbonate :

Advantages : Greater impact resistance. Good for tight bends.

Disadvantages : Scratches easily, limited availability.

Also available as a “Multiwall”  - good for long spans.

Skylight Glazing

Glass : Tempered Safety Glass

Also known as toughened glass.

Advantages : The most durable option. Can withstand relatively high impact.  Does not delaminate or fade.

Disadvantages : Limited colour range : Clear, Grey or Bronze. If it breaks, it shatters into tiny beads.

6 or 10 mm Multiwall Polycarbonate sheet.

Clear/Bronze/Grey/Opal.

Also available in Opal 16mm
